TIP:
The importer needs to take measures to ensure the quality of products
before the exporter ships them. Depending on the size of the order
and the degree of customization, a third party quality control specialist
might be beneficial.
After
the order is placed with the exporter, the buyer should make provisions
to guarantee the quality of the goods purchased. If the goods are
being custom made, usually samples are made and sent for approval
before full production starts. Quality sampling of goods made during
production runs, or final random product inspections are frequently
used tools of quality control, and can be undertaken by an independent
third party. To fully protect themselves, importers can stipulate
quality control measures that must be passed as conditions in the
L/C.
