Wetsandon
Jataka
Most
temple murals were painted in the 18th and 19th centuries during the Rattanakosin
era.
The finest examples of temple murals are considered to be in Bangkok, but a large number of excellent examples can be found in the provinces. Wat Machimawas in Songkhla, southern Thailand, has some of the country's best-preserved murals of Jataka stories and the life of the Buddha, including this mural depicting the tale of Wetsandon.
