Emerald
Cascades
Kanchanaburi
province, on Thailand's western border with Burma, is home to some of the
world's finest remaining swathes of rain forest.
The sparsely peopled area was once the site of war-time atrocities during the construction of the Japanese Death Railway.
Today the peaceful jungles and enchanting cascades reveal little of the horror that played out half a century ago.
