Hmong
The Hmong, also known as Meo or Maew, migrated to the region from southern China. The Hmong are Thailand's second largest hill tribe group and are particularly numerous in Chiang Mai province.

Thriving on mountain tops and plateaus over 1,000 meters, the Hmong practice patrilineal kinship and polygamy is permitted.
