Poi Sang Long
Mae Hong Son's Poi Sang Long Festival in March is held to celebrate the ordainment of young Shan boys as novice monks.

The young boys, dressed in ornate costumes and with facial make-up, are carried on the shoulders of friends or relatives around the temple compound.

Poi Sang Long is at its most vibrant and festive at Mae Hong Son's Wat Jong Klang and Wat Jong Kham temples.
