unit in free e-mail blitz The Nation

BANGKOK
(The Nation) - Thailand.com, a news and e-business portal operated by a
unit of the Nation Group, has launched a free e-mail address campaign to
broaden its customer base.
The campaign,
called Bonus Mail, began yesterday and will run until January 15, 2001.
Thanachai
Theerapatvong, chief executive of Thai Portal, which operates the site,
said that he wants Thais to use the e-mail service provided at the portal
to communicate with others.
"About
half a million Thais are expected to register with our new service",
Thanachai Said.
The Portal
offers a full range of e-business services to the travel, export, and investment
sectors as well as providing business news from around the region.
Members
who register during the bonus mail promotional campaign will get an e-mail
address with their own name (yourname@thailand.com ) and also get the chance
to win Bt20,000 in a daily lucky draw. The winners in the computerized
draw will be notified by e-mail. The winner must reply within 24 hours
to collect the prize.
Subscribers
will also get a second chance to win a prize when they introduce Bonus
Mail to a friend. If the friend wins a prize, the original subscriber will
get Bt10,000 as well.
Pacific
Internet (Thailand) has also joined the campaign. It will provide an Internet
package kit to a subscriber every day.
