November 16, 2000

BANGKOK (The Nation) - Thailand.com, a news and e-business portal operated by a unit of the Nation Group, has launched a free e-mail address campaign to broaden its customer base.

The campaign, called Bonus Mail, began yesterday and will run until January 15 next year.

Thanachai Theerapatvong, chief executive of Thai Portal, which operates the site, said that he wants Thais to use the e-mail service provided at the portal to communicate with others.

"About half a million Thais are expected to register with our new service", Thanachai Said.

The Portal offers a full range of e-business services to the travel, export, and investment sectors as well as providing business news from around the region.

Members who register during the bonus mail promotional campaign will get an e-mail address with their own name (yourname@thailand.com ) and also get the chance to win Bt20,000 in a daily lucky draw. The winners in the computerized draw will be notified by e-mail. The winner must reply within 24 hours to collect the prize.

Subscribers will also get a second chance to win a prize when they introduce Bonus Mail to a friend. If the friend wins a prize, the original subscriber will get Bt10,000 as well.
