Thai Portal to spend 300 million baht to develop website — Business Day

BANGKOK (Business Day) - Thai Portal, the firm in the Nation Multimedia Group building the thailand.com website, expects to spend 300 million baht per year in the next three years to develop the portal into Thailand's premier website.

Sermsin Samalapa, president of the firm, said he expects 300,000 visitors to the site per day when it officially opens on 1st June 2000. He said one third of the 300 million earmarked for this year will be to advertise the website in major media worldwide.

He said the firm is pooling the best Internet and e-commerce management from around the world. He said there are currently several Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard business school graduates at the firm. He said exports and tourism will be the main strength of the website.
