Seminar
and exhibition encourages Thai exporters to take on e-commerce.

The
Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commerce recently joined
the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thai Industrial Council and The Council
of Thai Maritime Exporters to hold an exhibition and seminar entitled
"E-commerce, the Modern Trade Platform". The event was
held on April 22, 2002 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention
Center. The objectives of the event were to promote knowledge and
understanding of the e-commerce process and to encourage Thai exporters
to increase their exports via e-commerce.
Deputy
Prime Minister Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak said that the system is a
mixture of the fast-developing information technology to service
worldwide customers faster and more conveniently and create more
channels and trade opportunities. He added that exporters need to
develop their potential for encouraging existing customers and as
well as to expand to new customers.
More
than 5,000 manufacturers, entrepreneurs and those interested in
modern trade joined the exhibition and seminar.
