Thong Somrong Beach & the Black Moon Parties

On the northeast coast, Thong Somrong, advertised as the 'secret beach', is a deserted cove and cannot be reached by road. The bay has been a spot for Samui's Black Moon parties, which have begun to compete with the Full Moon parties on Phangan. Now there is a new bar/restaurant opening practically every day. Thong Somrong is a venue for cool parties where anyone can get wild and have fun on a secret deserted beach. The parties are now held every month, so don't miss the special program with DJs from the noted clubs at Chaweng. They play great music with a perfect sound system all through the night and into the morning. You can get the pick-up trucks from the Club in Chaweng, the Happy Elephant in Bophut and Lugano in Lamai, then return early the next morning. The parties are much smaller versions of the Full Moon parties. With one sound station and one DJ, everybody is dancing at the same beat unlike the mix up of all different sources of music in Haad Rin. Thong Somrong is more appealing to enthusiastic club goers.
