Welcome \ Travel \ Thai Cuisine

 



Phak Gad Jor
Ingredients:
For 2 servings
300 g. (10 1/2 oz.) pork, diced
500 g. (1 lb.) spare ribs, chopped into bite-size pieces
3-4 pickled cabbages, use only the inner part
4 shallots, pounded
10 dried chillies, fried
2 tbs. dried chillies, fried
2 tbs. shallots, chopped and sauteed
3 cups water
 

Preparation:

1. In a pot, bring water to a boil. Then, add the diced pork and ribs. Simmer for 15 minutes.
2. Then, add grounded shallots and tamarind juice. Bring to a boil. Put the pickled cabbages into the boiling soup. Simmer until cooked.
3. When serving, sprinkle with sauteed shallots and dried chillies.

Note: This dish is common in Northern Thailand. It is suitable for low calorie diet.
