Trekking

Scenery from the top of the hillMost of the trekking in the province is centered around the areas of Doi Tung, Doi Mae Salong and Chiang Khong. More than twenty different tour agencies, guesthouses and hotels offer trekking trips. The tour and travel agencies normally just act as brokers, so it is often advisable to book directly with the local guesthouses. Also, the most experienced guides are usually found at the guesthouses, as these were the first places to offer trekking.

If the chosen guide is TAT-licensed then visitors can be assured of a quality service. Trekking trip prices vary depending on the number of days and also on the number of participants in the trek.
