Camping at Tai Rom Yen National Park

Tai Rom Yen National Park occupies a forested area of 425 sq kms or 133,125 rai of Khlong Nam Thao Reserve in Amphoe Ban Na San and Amphoe Wiang Sa. Once the Communist Party of Thailand established their base at a mountain within the park, known as Khao Chong Chang. If you wish to stay overnight at the park, you are requested to bring your own camping accessories.

Tai Rom Yen National Park is composed of limestone hills dotted with caves and contains lush forest areas with a considerable variety of plant and animal species. Once the national park sheltered a number of wildlife species including elephant and gaur, but now no trace of them can be found. The most unique animal found today within the park is a large species of mountain frog, the rana macrodon. Along the nature trails there are several scenic spots including spectacular waterfalls: Dat Fa Waterfall, approximately 46 km from Surat Thani, Muang Thuat Waterfall, 20 km from Amphoe Ban Na San and Than Thip Waterfall in Amphoe Wiang Sa.
