12 August. A nationwide celebration of love for Queen
Sirikit, the mother of the nation.
23 October. This public holiday is held in remembrance
of King Rama V, who abolished slavery and maintained Siamese
sovereignty during the period of European colonialism.
Beer Festival, October-November. With the arrival of cooler
weather, the country's brewers set up their stalls to transform
Bangkok into one big beer garden.
Golden Mount Fair.
A cultural fair and charming lamp-light procession up the
slopes of Bangkok's Golden Mount.
