Chulalongkorn Day,
23 October. This public holiday is held in remembrance
of King Rama V, who abolished slavery and maintained Siamese
sovereignty during the period of European colonialism.
Thai
Beer Festival, October-November. With the arrival of cooler
weather, the country's brewers set up their stalls to transform
Bangkok into one big beer garden.
