Because there are a lot of Thai people with Chinese origins living in Songkhla, so some of the provincial festivals also reflect Chinese traditional beliefs. They celebrate the Chinese Lunar Festival which falls either in January or February every year. Five days after the celebration of the Chinese Lunar Festival, there is a colorful parade, called Hae Phra Festival, which brings the Chinese New Year celebration to an end.
