From Bangkok Getting Around

From Bangkok 

You can get to Phetchaburi by car, bus or train. Many kinds of buses ply the southern route as well as both direct and indirect trains. It takes about two and a half hours to get there from Bangkok.

By Bus

Non Air-conditioned Bus
The Transport Company Limited (Bo Kho So) operates a daily Bangkok to Phetchaburi service every 25 minutes. The fare is 28 baht per person. Services start at 5.00 a.m. through till 7.00 p.m. Detailed information can be obtained from the Southern Bus Terminal Tel +66 2 434 5557 to 8, 435 1199, 435 1200.

Air- conditioned Bus (Blue Color)
Two companies operate first-class air-conditioned coach services to Phetchaburi:

Krungthep-Phetchaburi Tour Co., Ltd.: with daily services from 5.00 am through to 8.15 pm. Return services start from 5.00 am through to 7.30 pm.

Buses are available every 45 minutes and the fare is 65 baht per person. For more information, contact +66 2 435 7438 or +66 32 425 922.

Hua Hin-Pran Tour Co., Ltd.: with daily services starting at 7.00 a.m. through to 2.20 p.m. Return services begin at 9.00 a.m. and the last trip is at 5 p.m.

The fare to Phetchaburi is 86 baht per person; 97 baht per person for Bangkok-Hua Hin. For more information, contact +66 2 435 5097, 435 0321 or +66 32 471 654.

You can also travel on one of the southern route buses, such as Bangkok-Chumphon, Bangkok-Prachuab Khiri Khan or Bangkok-Hua Hin, which also drop off passengers in Phetchaburi.

By Trian

Ordinary, rapid, express and special express trains depart daily from Bangkok’s Hua Lampong Railway Station and Thonburi Railway Station (Bangkok Noi Station) for Phetchaburi and Cha-am.

Trains bound for Hat Yai drop off passengers in Phetchaburi. The ordinary and rapid train departs daily, while the express train leaves during the night.

Fares per person are 153 baht for first class, 78 baht for second class and 34 baht for third class. Supplementary charges are added for sleeping berths and catering service.

On holidays, the State Railway of Thailand offers one-day tours to Cha-am. The train departs Bangkok at 6.30 a.m. to visit Phetchaburi, Kao Wang Historical Site, Cha-am Beach and Marukataiyawan Palace. The fee is 480 baht per person including a meal. By Car

Two main road routes link Bangkok and Phetchaburi: via Bhuttha Monthon and by the Thonburi-Paktor Highway. The Bhuttha Monthon Route passes through Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi on the way. The total distance is 166 km. The faster route along the Thonburi-Paktor Highway passes through Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram and Paktor District of Ratchaburi, before joining Highway No.4 to Phetchaburi The total distance is 121 km.
