Getting Around

By Bus

Within the City
All of the internal city bus routes, apart from the Pink buses, have now been discontinued. The official public transport is actually now the Songthaews (red mini buses).

The pink bus service runs from Khwan Wiang housing estate to the airport and then in a clockwise route around the Old City. Buses stop at the airport entrance (beyond the car park) on the inward journey towards the city.

There are a multitude of colored scheduled buses, mini buses, vans and pick-ups that can easily be taken for getting to see the sites in and around Chiang Mai province. The various departure points are at the Khuang Chang Phuak Bus Station (No. 1) situated on Chotana Road north of Chang Puak Gate and at the Lam Yai and Sri Nakhon Ping Markets.
