Information
Khon Kaen airport is located six km west of the city
Center and approximately two km off highway 12. The taxi fare
is approximately eighty baht. Khon Kaen Airport is an important
domestic airport located in the northeast of Thailand. It
is thought that the potential for this airport's future expansion
is quite good. Not only because of the recent increases in
the number of tourists wishing to visit Khon Kaen province,
but also as it could quite feasibly serve as an important
hub for the neighbouring countries of Laos and Cambodia.

There
is a wide range of transportation available for getting between
the airport and the downtown areas, including taxis and minibuses.
Thai Airways operates a limousine service to all the major
hotels and also a shuttle bus service to the Thai Airways
office in the Center of town. There is an airport departure
tax of 30 baht on all domestic flights.
Airline
Information
There were previously two airlines operating out of of Khon
Kaen airport, Thai Airways and Orient Express Air. However,
Orient Express Air have temporarily suspended all their domestic
routes in Thailand since the arrival of Angel Air to the market.
Thai Airways still have four direct daily flights to and from
Don Muang domestic airport in Bangkok. The flight time is
55 minutes. The price of a one-way economy ticket is 1,080
baht. Business passengers should also note that Business class
seats are not always available on all flights. The flight
to Phitsanulok has been temporarily suspended but may resume
shortly.
Most
flights generally fill quite quickly and it is recommended
to book in advance especially during the high season, official
Thai holidays and extended weekend breaks. Airline Offices
