Songthaew

To travel within the province, there are usually Songthaews available to various destinations. Going to Tham Pla, a songthaew costs about 15 baht and provides a service from 10.00am to 3.00pm; Nai Soi (Long-neck Karen Village) 20 baht from 9.30-12.00am; Pha Bong 10 baht only at 11.00am; Khun Yuam 30 baht no specific departure times.

From Mae Sariang, songthaews usually leave from the morning market on Saritphon Rd. to Mai La Noi from 7.30am to 4.00pm; to Khun Yuam at 8.30am; to Sop Moei from 8.00am to 1.00pm; to Mae Ngaw from 8.00am to 1.00pm. The price is between 20-50 baht. And at Prempracha Bus Terminal, there are many trips going to Mae Sod, Tak province from 6.30am to 12.30am. The price is about 150 baht.

Motorcycle Taxi

Usually the queues are at the markets, airport, hospitals and Prempracha Bus Terminal. If you want a ride within the town, it may cost only 10 baht per ride. But if you want to go somewhere further, the price is higher, for example, going to visit Phra That Doi Kong Mu 50 baht, Pha Bong Hot spring 50 baht, the long-neck Karen’s village 140 baht, and Pha Sua Waterfall 200 baht.

Also, you can have a package tour as an option to see the sights of Mae Hong Son. There are many travel agencies in main districts such as Muang, Pai and Pang Ma Pha. Most of them arrange interesting and reasonably priced packages under the regulations of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
