There is no direct flight to Phangnga province.
Three main domestic airlines: Thai International Airways,
Bangkok Airways, and Angel Air fly
where you can travel
by road for another
58 km to get
to Phangnga.
Thai International Airways
operates 14 flights a day to Phuket. The flights depart Bangkok
every hour or so and take almost one and a half hours with
the fare of 2,000 baht. The earliest flight is at 7.00 a.m.
which will arrive in Phuket at 8.30 a.m. and the last flight
is at 9.00 p.m. arriving at 10.20
p.m.
Thai Airways
also flies direct from Chiang Mai to Phuket every single day,
leaving at 11.35 a.m.
and
arriving in
Phuket at 1.30
p.m. with the cost of
3,455 baht.
Another domestic airline,
Bangkok Airways, which owns the rights
of the privately
operated airport of
Samui, flies one direct flight from Samui to Phuket every
day departing at 9.50 a.m. and arriving at 10.40
a.m. The fare costs 1,530
baht one-way and 3,060 baht round trip.
On Tuesday and Wednesday you
can take flights operated by Angel Air from Bangkok to Phuket
which leave at 10.25 a.m. and arrive at 11.40 a.m.
By Car
Traveling
by car is
a long and tiring journey of almost 12 hours to cover
the 788 km from Bangkok to
Phangnga. Take Route 4 from Thonburi-Parkto Road, passing
Prachuab Khirikan, Chumpon, and Ranong.
Alternatively, you can go
down Route 4 heading
toward Chumphon, and then use Highway No. 41 to the Tha Chang
intersection. Just turn right there to the Highway No. 401
and go
almost 50 kilometers to Ta Khun Village. Journey
to Highway No. 415 for approximately 30 km.
From Phuket, use route 402,
until
you cross
the parallel spans of Sarasin and Thao Thep Krasatri Bridges
and you
are in Phangnga province. To go on to the provincial capital,
go north to the town of Kok Kloy. Turn right (at Bangkok Bank),
and follow Route 4 to Phangnga
Town. You will pass Takua Thung along the way and cover a
distance of 87 km Travel time is about 90 minutes.
