Travel
around Phuket is as convenient as in Bangkok. You can hire
Tuk Tuks to go around the island. The fare depends on the
distance.
Local buses and ‘Songthaew’,
a pickup with two rows of seats for passengers, have regular
schedules and destinations. Near Wong Wien Nam Phu at Ranong
road, there is Songthaew a terminal with service to beaches
and other places every 30 minutes.
There is also a shuttle service
between the airport and city. Tourists can use the service
at Tour Royal Enterprise, Vichit Songkram road, Tel +66 76
235268 to 71. Service time is between 6.30 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.
You can travel from Phuket
to near provinces by getting a bus at the station at Phang
Nga road to Krabi, Nakon Si Thammarat, Phang Nga, Ranong,
Surat Thani, Trang, Satun, Hat Yai, Takuapa, and Kho Samui.

Thai Airways operates flights
from Phuket to Surat Thani, Nakon Sri Thammarat, Trang and

Bangkok Airways flies Phuket
– Samui daily. The travel time is 50 minutes. For details

From Phuket you can take a
boat to Krabi’s Phi Phi Islands, some 40 km southeast of Phuket.
Ferryboats are of service daily at Makham Bay, Patong beach
as well as fishery seaports near Siray Island. The arrangement
is most easily made through your hotel travel counter, where
you can also book for excursions to Phi Phi.
