Airport Information

Bangkok (Don Muang) International Airport is considered one of the largest, most modern and convenient airports in the region. It is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology. The airport has two international terminals and one domestic terminal.

Passengers can find all the basic necessities at the airport such as restaurants, fast food outlets, bookstores, convenience stores, souvenir shops, duty free shops, post office, banks and currency exchange, left luggage, lost and found luggage service, airport clinic, as well as airline offices. Trolleys are available for use inside the terminals, free of charge.

On arrival, passengers will find hotel and tour booking agencies, car rental agencies, information counter, and airport taxi service. Passengers transferring to domestic flights can walk through the air-conditioned walkway linking the domestic terminal (about 500 m).

On departure, passengers have to pay 500 baht airport tax for international flights, and 30 baht for domestic flights.

Other international airports at Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai and Phuket also have comparable modern facilities to the Bangkok airport but they are much smaller in size.

The privately owned airports of Bangkok Airways at Samui and Sukhothai are famed for their beautifully designed passenger terminals. Both are equipped with safety facilities as required by the standards of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand.

Samui airport has recently been upgraded to a customs airport. Immigration facilities, customs, and new passenger terminals to facilitate direct international traffic are available. The airport is designed and decorated in a unique style to complement the island scenery. On departure, passengers are required to pay 400 baht airport tax for Samui airport and 100 baht for Sukhothai airport.
