

Airport Information
Bangkok
(Don Muang) International Airport is considered one of the
largest, most modern and convenient airports in the region.
It is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology.
The airport has two international terminals and one domestic
terminal.
Passengers
can find all the basic necessities at the airport such as
restaurants, fast food outlets, bookstores, convenience stores,
souvenir shops, duty free shops, post office, banks and currency
exchange, left luggage, lost and found luggage service, airport
clinic, as well as airline offices. Trolleys are available
for use inside the terminals, free of charge.
On arrival,
passengers will find hotel and tour booking agencies, car
rental agencies, information counter, and airport taxi service.
Passengers transferring to domestic flights can walk through
the air-conditioned walkway linking the domestic terminal
(about 500 m).
On departure,
passengers have to pay 500 baht airport tax for international
flights, and 30 baht for domestic flights.
Other international
airports at Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai and Phuket also
have comparable modern facilities to the Bangkok airport but
they are much smaller in size.
The privately
owned airports of Bangkok Airways at Samui and Sukhothai are
famed for their beautifully designed passenger terminals.
Both are equipped with safety facilities as required by the
standards of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand.
Samui airport
has recently been upgraded to a customs airport. Immigration
facilities, customs, and new passenger terminals to facilitate
direct international traffic are available. The airport is
designed and decorated in a unique style to complement the
island scenery. On departure, passengers are required to pay
400 baht airport tax for Samui airport and 100 baht for Sukhothai
airport.
