Local mini-buses
(songthaew) travel the routes to Takiab Beach and Suan Son
Beach, from downtown Hua Hin. Buses run from 6.00 am to 5.50
pm at two points: one leaves from opposite the main bus terminal
to Takiab Beach on Sasong Road, the other leaves from Chomsin
Road opposite the temple. Fares are about 5 to 10 baht per
person.
For Pran Buri, buses leave
from Chomsin Road opposite the temple. Fares are about 7 to
15 baht per person.
To get around Hua Hin, try
the tricycles (samlors) that are supervised by the municipal
authorities. The fare, from 20 to 40 baht per trip, depends
on the distance.
Travelers can rent motorcycles
and bicycles from Damnoen Kasem Road near the Jed Pee Nong
Hotel. Motorcycle rates are about 200 to 700 baht per day,
depending on the engine size. Bicycles can be hired for about
50 to 100 baht per day.
For Singtoh Island, travelers
can hire boats at the fishing pier or at Takiab Beach, in
the fishermen’s village. The rate is about 800 to 1,000 baht
per day.
To travel between districts,
buses or cars are the best means. The distances from the main
town to nearby districts are 30 km to Kui Buri, 42 km to Tub
Sakae, 57 km to Pran Buri, 75 km to Bang Sapan and 90 km to
Hua Hin.
