Around
Muang Sukhothai, visitors can take a samlor ride that shouldn't
cost more than 30 baht. Between Muang Sukhothai and Sukhothai
Historical Park, there are Songthaews available frequently,
leaving from Yom River on Charot Withithong Road. It takes
about 20 to 30 minutes to reach the park. The fare is 5 -10
baht. At the park, there is a tram service operating through
the old city for 20 baht per person. Sometimes, the local
people offer bullock cart rides.
However,
one of the best way to get around Sukhothai Historical Park
is by bike. Bicycles can be rented at the shops outside the
park entrance for 20 baht per day.
To
visit Ramkhamhaeng National Park
For those with cars, leave from Bangkok on the route to Nakhon
Sawan, Kamphaeng Phet and Khiri Mat District. Before reaching
Sukhothai about 20 km (milestone 414) you will see a huge
mountain on your left hand side. Turn left and follow the
laterite way for 16 km, and this will take you to the Ramkhamhaeng
National Park Office. From here visitors need to go on foot
in order to explore and see the sights. For any information

To
visit Si Satchanalai District
From Sukhothai, visitors can go to Si Satchanalai District
by taking highway no.101 (Sukhothai-Sawankhalok-Si Satchanalai)
to Km.64 then turn left across the Bridge over Yom River.
On the right hand, there will be an entrance to the park about
2 km later. The total distance is 68 km. Alternatively visitors
can also take the highway no.1201 from Sawankhalok to Tambon
Muang Kao (sub-district). At Yom River Bridge, turn left to
the park's entrance and go on for about 2 km. The total distance
is 22 km. For tourists who do not drive, there are the local
buses leaving from Sukhothai's local market available daily.
