Na Phramen Temple

Na Phramen Temple's seated Buddha imageFormerly known as Wat Phra Merurachikaram, Na Phramen Temple is an ancient monastery dating back to the 13th century, which has largely escaped destruction in the successive wars that have ravaged Ayutthaya.

The most interesting objects in this restored temple are the principal seated Buddha image, fully decorated in regal attire, and another very old image of black stone in the smaller viharn.

Wat Na Phramen is situated opposite the Ancient Palace, on the north bank of the Lopburi River.
