JEATH War Museum

The name JEATH stands for Japan, England, America, Australia, Thailand and Holland. The war museum is housed in the compound of Wat Chaichumphon (a local temple) on the banks of the Mae Klong River.

It has been constructed in the form of an allied prisoner-of-war camp with bamboo bunks running the length of the long hut and cramped living spaces for each prisoner inside. On the walls of the hut are enlarged photographs, paintings and other memorabilia of the atrocities against the prisoners of war and their severe living conditions.

The museum is located on Pak Phraek Road, not far from the Kanchanaburi Tourist Office on Saeng Chuto Road. It is open daily from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm.
