This
province is home to some of the oldest and most significant
historical sites in the country, dating back to pre-historic
times. A large number of ancient Khmer ruins are also located
in Nakorn Ratchasima, some even older than the legendary Angkor
Wat in neighboring Cambodia.
Prasat Hin Phimai National Historical Park
This
wonderfully restored park boasts some truly spectacular Khmer
ruins, which pre-date Angkor Wat in Cambodia, back to the
early 11th century.

This
extremely significant site has artifacts from a variety of
ancient societies, extending back over 3000 years.

Wat Sala Loi
This
modern temple is located in the northeast section of Nakorn
Ratchasima, and has won several awards for its distinctive
modern design. The ashes of Khun Ying Mo, a local heroine,
are also located here.
