In addition to a number of natural attractions, Nong Khai
is home to several rather significant historical sites, some
rather new, and some which are thought to be over a 1000 years
old. Some of these historical sites also hold a great deal
of religious and political importance, and are deeply revered
by the local populous.
Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge
This
impressive bridge was completed in 1994, and funded by Australia.
Over 1170 m long, it is the only road connection between the
neighboring countries of Thailand and Laos.
