Wat Hin Mak Peng

This small temple located just 30 km from Sri Chiang Mai offers some of the most scenic views in the province. Situated along the fabulous Route 211, this wat is known for its monks, who have taken vows in addition to the 227 precepts. These monks eat only once a day, and spend a great portion of their time in meditation.

This beautiful temple can be reached via bus or songthaew from Nong Khai. There is no direct route, so a bus must be taken to Sri Chiang Mai, and then a songthaew directly to the entrance. The total cost of the trip is typically around 25 baht.
