As
a main port for condiment trading and the settlement of Indian
traders, the majority of historical attractions in Phangnga
indicate traces of Hindu and Brahman influence spreading throughout
the area during the time before the rise of the Sukkhothai
Empire in the 13th century.
The
main three significant historical sites still show the remnants
of Indian architecture and art depicting religious themes
and stories.
Wat Narai Nikayaram
Narai
Nikayaram Temple is famous for its fine stone carvings depicting
legendary characters from the Ramayana Epic.
