Rayong City Pillar

Rayong City Pillar is highly revered by the local people and there is a grand celebration for the pillar every year within its grounds. Found in Lak Muang Road, the City Pillar is believed to have been constructed by King Taksin the Great when he gathered the local people to fight for the freedom of Thailand over Burma. The shrine containing the pillar was built in a Chinese style pavilion after restoration. However, originally, it was made from wood.
