Forms of Address

Thais often address each other using their first names with the honorific "khun" or other title preceding it. Other formal terms of address include "naai", Mr, "naang", Mrs, and "naang sao", Miss. You can use nicknames or kinship terms for non-relatives, depending on the age differential, for informal relationships. Young children can be called "laan" meaning nephew/niece.
