Chalerm Rattanakosin National Park & Than Lot Cave

The Than Lot Cave ('Tham Than Lot') is located 97 km northwest of Kanchanaburi in the province's smallest nature reserve, the 59 sq km Chalerm Rattanakosin National Park (formerly known as Tham Than Lot National Park).

Chalerm Rattanakosin National ParkThe park has two notable caves, Tham Than Lot Yai and Tham Than Lot Noi, as well as lush jungles and some impressive waterfalls, particularly Than Ngoen and Than Thong Waterfalls. All the sites are within walking distance of the main park headquarters.

To get to the park, follow highways 323 and 3086 to Nong Pru, either by car or by bus from Kanchanaburi town. A mine-bus, pick-up truck or motorcycle can be hired at Nong Pru for the short distance to the park. Bungalows are available at the National Park or a small fee is charged for campers. Note that the food available at the site is very limited; it's best to take food and drinks along with you.
