


The
province of Nakhon Ratchasima boasts one of the finest national
parks in the world, Khao Yai National Park, which has been
recognized by the United Nations. This park and many of the
surrounding areas are tremendously scenic, and home to a wide
variety of rare flora and fauna. In addition, two dams in
the province have created large reservoirs, which provide
access to some beautiful waterfalls.

This
world-class national park is one of the biggest attractions
in the region, and has been recognized by the United Nations
as being one of the best in the region. Both flora and fauna
are available in completely natural surroundings and in great
number and variety.

Phra Ploeng Dam
Although
this dam is not extremely accessible, it is one of the better
recreational areas in Khorat. Accessible from the dam, by
way of boat, are two waterfalls and some extremely placid
areas.

Takhong Dam
Situated
62 km outside of the town of Nakorn Ratchasima, this impressive
dam creates an enormous reservoir, essential to rice farming
in the area.
