Songkhla LakeThe huge Thale Sap Songkhla, or Songkhla Lake, dominates the geography of the province. Where the estuary meets the see near Songkhla provincial town there are some hills which have temples and monuments of great historical significance. On the shore of the lake there is a bird sanctuary, and in nearby wildlife preserves there are some picturesque waterfalls.
