As
you stroll past the White House Go Go you may be accosted
by a small but aggressive contingent of girls urging you to
sample the 'pleasures' to be found inside. Don't waste your
time. Inside you will find lethargic dancers, rude hostesses,
surly waitresses and bad music played at ear piercingly loud
levels. If you want to pay too much for a beer and be badgered
to buy a lady drink for a hostess who is actively hostile,
then the White House Go Go is your kind of place. Beer costs
around 100 baht and so does the obligatory drink for the young
lady who will attach herself to you when you walk inside through
the curtains. If you find one of the dancers particularly
appealing you can have her join you, either for a drink at
your table or somewhere more private. A fee, around 600 to
1,000 baht, is payable to the management if you wish to escort
her from the premises. Your arrangement with the young lady
is strictly between the two of you. If you are looking for
companionship for the evening it is recommended that you try
one of the friendlier go-go places in Clinton Plaza.
The
White House Go Go is the first bar on the right as you enter
Clinton Plaza. Some expense has been spared in making it look
just like the famous address on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington,
D.C., but the few patrons don't seem to notice.
