Located
on Patpong 1, the Safari Bar is a long-time favorite along
Patpong. The Safari has changed its face many times over the
years. Right now it has toned down the go-go dancing (there
are only about half a dozen girls go-go dancing at any given
time) and upped the alluring cocktail gown-clad hostesses.
A space has been reserved towards the back of the bar for
dancing (for customers and hostesses).
Perhaps
Safari Bar's strong point is the friendliness of its girls.
The hostesses are usually happy to just talk without being
over-aggressive for drinks, unlike many of the bars nearby.
Seventy to 80 girls work at Safari, but probably only half
of that number can be found at the bar at a time.
Prices
are fairly standard; beers in the range of 80-100 baht ($2.00-2.50)
a bottle depending on brand, while the bar fine is 500 baht.
