Christie's Club

For one of the best hostess bars on Soi 33 you need go no farther than Christie's Club. It is the first bar on the left as walk from Sukhumvit Road and is easy to recognize because it has a life size statue of a horse in front. You will usually see four or five young ladies in flowing evening wear sitting at one of the tables in front. You can sit outside with one or more of them and watch the passing scene while you sip a beer or a cocktail.

Inside you will find, in addition to other beautiful girls, a pool table, dart board and other ways to pleasantly pass the time. Unlike some of the other establishments on the soi, the music is not too loud, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Christie's can be crowded on weekends with expatriates and Thai businessmen, but if you go during the week you will usually find you are outnumbered by the charming hostesses.

During happy hour beer costs 80 baht and lady drinks 70 baht. After 9 pm beer costs 150 baht and lady drinks cost 130 baht. If one of the attractive young lasses catches your fancy, the fee payable to Christie's for escorting her to somewhere more private is 1,200 baht. Negotiations with the young lady are separate.
