Goya
Club, formerly Martini's, is one of the hostess bars on Soi
33 which has adopted the name of a famous painter, and is
slowly changing the motif to match the artist. The bar had
to find a new name after their was a dispute about calling
it Martini's, and since many of the bars on the soi are named
after famous impressionists it settled on Goya.
As
you approach the bar, which is about halfway down the soi
on the right hand side as you come from Sukhumvit, you will
see two or three girls in stylish red dresses sitting or standing
in front. If they think you might buy them a drink they will
be friendly and try to get you to go in. Inside the decor
is dimly lit and tends towards various hues of red. The sound
system is good, but not too loud, and the girls are attentive
and willing to please provided you can afford the relatively
high prices for drinks. The 'bar fine' is 1,200 baht, more
than double what it costs in other red light zones for the
company of one of the charming hostesses. The young ladies
themselves are also more expensive than the ones in Soi Cowboy
or Clinton Plaza.
