Long Gun Bar is one of the most successful and popular go-go
bars on Soi Cowboy. The stage is rather smaller than in some
of the other establishments, and often there is only a single
nude dancer undulating suggestively between the chrome poles.
The bar itself is a bit dingy and often quite crowded, even
during the week. But the hostesses are some of the most striking
women on the street. There is no cover charge and the prices
of beer and 'bar fines' are comparable to other go-go places.
There is a show around 11 pm each night featuring ladies that
start out wearing boots and bikini bottoms, and involves bananas,
balloons and an unusual way to open beer bottles. Some people
might find it mildly disturbing, but the patrons seem to enjoy
it.
Some
reports have suggested that the owners of the establishment
have very influential connections. This might explain why
the dancers sometimes dispense with the g-strings that are
officially required at the other bars along the soi. Although
complete nudity is officially illegal, the management seems
unconcerned about possible police raids which sometimes interrupt
the festivities at other bars when all the clothes come off.
The Long Gun sometimes stays open a little later than the
official closing time of 2 am.
