Soi
Cowboy is the most relaxed of the red light zones in Bangkok,
and Old Dutch is the most laid back place on the street. The
owner, Hank, hails from Holland and he has created a cafe
with the atmosphere of Amsterdam and the flavor of Bangkok.
Soft music makes a nice change from the deafening din in the
go-go bars, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The food
is good, especially the fish and chips with mushy peas, the
fresh seafood and the specialty Dutch dishes, and not expensive.
Breakfast is served all day and they know how to make a decent
cappucino.
Food,
drink and soft music are only a few of the things that make
Old Dutch an excellent place to begin or end your evening.
International newspapers are available in the reading corner.
You can play chess, pool or darts. You can get a Thai massage
(no hanky panky) or relax in the sauna, or watch cable TV.
You can even get a haircut. Soon you'll be able to connect
to the internet while you fuel up for a night on the town,
or while you sober up afterward.
