
Krabi province is a favorite
destination for vacationers seeking a tropical paradise. Phi
Phi and Lanta islands have beautiful beaches and relaxing,
warm breezes. But Krabi has been popular for a long time.
Archaeological evidence indicates that the first 'tourists'
may have arrived 25,000 years ago.
Cave
drawings and excavations show Krabi has been inhabited for
a long time. Once part of the Nakhon Si Thammarat kingdom,
it has been a part of the Thai kingdom for more than 200 years.

and about 37% are Muslim. Sea gypsies have their own, animistic,
