The charm of the eastern region lies in its fine coastal beaches, with famous beaches including Pattaya in Chonburi, Ko Samed in Rayong, and Ko Chang in Trad. The area is among the most complete seaside destinations in Thailand.

Apart from beaches, the area is also endowed with waterfalls, mountains and islands.

Agricultural tourism is currently prospering in some eastern provinces, particularly Chanthaburi, Rayong and Trad, where farming of durians, rambutans and mangosteens is being turned into a tourist attraction.

Realizing more tourists' interest in agro-tourism, the Tourism Authority of Thailand has in recent years tried to cooperate with local farmers to develop the cultivation areas.
