Nakhon
Ratchasima's people are 97.81% Buddhists, 1.14% Christians
and 0.14% Muslims. The province's historical sites include
arts and architecture reflecting the Khmer influences that
dominated this area in the past. The most important evidence
is the seventeenth century sandstone sanctuary of Phimai.
Other Khmer ruins in Nakhon Ratchasima include Phanom Wan
sandstone sanctuary, Ban Ku stupa and Sida stupa, all of which
have the same appearance as the principal sanctuary of Phimai
but are somewhat smaller.
