Krabi's estimated population, as of September 1999, is 344,610. Most live in Muang district, 82,478, followed by Klong Thom. The greatest population density is in Nhua Klong, average 193 person per square kilometer.

In 1998 Krabi had 281 schools. Based on education research in the same year, 99% of Krabi children qraduated in their compulsory education.
