Travel Q&A

Welcome \ Travel \ Overview

Culture & Religion

By far the greatest proportion of the people of Prachuab Khiri Khan, approximately 97%, are Buddhist, with small minorities of Muslims, Christians, Hindus and Sikhs.

Since the majority of the population is both Thai and Buddhist, so traditional Thai customs and beliefs have had the greatest influence in the area. Temples or 'wat' are often at the focus of religious and recreational activities. Prachuab Khiri Khan's annual festival, held every June, includes a religious ceremony held at Khao Chong Krajok, an important pagoda containing relics of the Lord Buddha.
