Geography & Climate  

Songkhla is located 950 km south of Bangkok, bordering Nakhon Si Thammarat and Phattalung to the north, Yala, Pattani and the Malaysian states of Kedah (Sai Buri) and Perlis to the south, the Gulf of Thailand to the east, and Satun and Phattalung to the west. Songkhla covers an area of 7,393.9 square kilometers (approximately 1,848,472 acres).

Songkhla's' average temperature is 27.0 °C - 28.0 °C. The lowest temperature is between 20.7-28.0 °C and the highest temperature is around 31.4-36.9 °C. Average rain level as measured in 1994-1998 is 1,698.6 to 2,369.0 mm. It rains in every season, with rain falling on about half the days during the year.
