Sukhothai province (area code 055) is administratively divided into 9 districts (Amphoes):

The province gains its primary source of income from the agricultural activities found mostly in Muang, Si Samrong, Khiri Mat and Sawankhalok. Rice, sugar cane, soybean and tobacco are Sukhothai’s major economic crops. The picturesque sightseeing afforded by the Sukhothai Historical Park and other nearby areas also provides its people high revenues from tourism. In particular, after having been designated as a World Heritage Site, the Park has become much more attractive to tourists, both Thais and foreigners.
