Mae Faluang Arboretum

The Mae Faluang Arboretum is located on Mount Chang Moob, the tallest mountain within the Doi Tung Development Project area. The Arboretum was developed by the late Queen Mother, who transformed this once dry and barren region into a beautiful, thickly forested garden area. The Arboretum's gardens cover a total area of 250 Rai and contain several scenic viewpoints.

Mae Faluang also contains many elaborate and native species of flora and forested plants, especially rare ones gathered from many sources from within Thailand. The Arboretum offers a hiking trail along the hillside where visitors can witness the beauty of the floral gardens. There is an especially great viewpoint at the top of the mountain with panoramic views stretching as far as the borders of Burma and Laos.

There is a pretty brook called 'Phra Ratchaharuthai Somdet Ya Brook' set among shady trees. The Arboretum is open daily from 6 am to 6 pm with an entrance fee of 50 baht.
