Hilltribe Villages

Hilltribe Villages in Mae Hong SonIn Mae Hong Son, there are many hill tribe villages that are worth visiting, each with its own individual culture, architecture and costumes. One of the most charming of these villages is the Mae La-Oop Village at Tambon Huai Hom, which boasts some truly spectacular hilltop scenery. The village is located at the juncture of the Mae Chaem, Mae La Noi and Mae Sariang districts.

About 4 km from the Mae La-Oop village is the Huai Hom Karen Village, another interesting and unique hill tribe destination. The Huai Hom villagers are extremely kind and gentle people, with their own unique character and religious faith. In addition, the Huai Hom are skilled tailors, and have also been taught to plant trees by the hill tribe community development center founded in the village.
