The
Lao Song Cultural Center
In
Phetchaburi, the Lao Song or Thai Song Dam is a folk community
with a distinctive and original culture, displayed through
costume, hairstyle, language, architecture, occupation and
beliefs. The Lao Song people originally migrated from Laos,
a long time ago, and have retained much of the Lao cultural
identity. At the Lao Song Village, tourists can visit a traditional
house and try out the original cuisine of these people. The
tour program includes demonstrations of culture and folk plays,
a trip around their village and museum, and a visit to the
Buddha image in Kao Yoi Cave.
The
village is about 100 km from Bangkok, by the side of Phetkasem
Road. Buses leave daily from the Southern Terminal Bus. For

buses or +66 2 435-1199, 435-1200 for air-conditioned buses.
To get there by train, drop off at Kao Yoi Station and take
a taxi or songthaew to the village, which is about 4 km away.
